MUD
Detailed description

Geas’ class- and level-less system allows your character to improve and advance the skills and abiliti es he or she uses most, thereby gi ving you maximum freedom and unlim ited possibilities to develop your alter ego into the kind of charac ter you imagine. The features of Geas are too exten sive to list, but they include an unmatched combat system, a dynamic economy, multiple languages, a play er enforced legal system, hundreds of skills, an unbelievably detailed world, and roleplay which is both mandatory and strictly enforced.

One of the big advantages of playing a MUD like Geas is that what you do is pr etty much up to you. There is a whole h uge, unique world to explore. You can c hoose to become a fighter or a cleric, a politician or a hermit. You can join a guild for protection and special trai ning in certain skills, or you can get some other players together and found y our own. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.

In the year 0 A.A. (After Arrival), many dragonships full of wild and warlike humans landed on the coast of Forostar, the northern land. The y were on the run because of a terr ible war against an insect-like rac e which had devastated their homela nd. They took their families and al l of their possesions with them and sought a new land to settle. When all had arrived, they burned the dr agonships to destroy the only way b ack, so that everyone would stand t ogether, whatever dangers the new l and would bring. Finally they built the city of Arborea (named after a gigantic oak which grows in the he art of the town) near the coast at the bay of Ar-Samrach and started t o harvest wood from the surrounding forests.

To play you just have to connect with a telnet client to geas.de a t port 3333 or default port 23. T here are also special Mud-Clients , such as zMUD for Windows System s or TinyFugue for Unix/Linux.
